ABB expands capacity in India
ABB in India has inaugurated its greenfield automation products facility near Bangalore. This facility is one of many initiatives that ABB has taken up in India to build and expand capacity to meet the needs of the future.
Spread over 18 acres, the factory will manufacture products such as air circuit breakers, switch fuse units, moulded case circuit breakers, low and medium voltage drives and systems, MCC and PLC products, high power rectifiers, static excitation systems and main and auxiliary traction converters.
The new production facility significantly increases ABB’s production capacity in India and enhances the company’s footprint in the region while catering to growing demand for intelligent automation products in the Indian and overseas markets.

According to Tom Sjoekvist, head of Automation Products division for ABB Group, “ABB has grown significantly in the last six to seven years. A virtual debt-free status and a healthy order backlog would help ABB tide over the global economic crisis.”
