M&M Answers US Partner’s Lawsuit

Mahindra & Mahindra has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit that Global Vehicles USA, Inc. filed against it in the US District Court for the Northern Georgia. M&M’s response comes a fortnight after GV filed the lawsuit for the delay in launching the first Mahindra Pick-Up truck in the US. In its lawsuit, GV had also accused M&M of ‘unilateral attempts to impose extra-contractual and onerous conditions on Global Vehicles’. In its response, M&M alleges GV’s claims are without merit and it will vigorously contest the lawsuit. M&M is yet to complete all homologation requirements in the US. The initial date for completion of the homologation process was August 31, 2009, says Global Vehicles in its lawsuit. M&M says it has not intentionally delayed the process and ‘is diligently working towards satisfying all US homologation requirements and intends to submit its final application as soon as possible’.
