Wuling reveals new Hong Guang Plus MPV
The Hong Guang Plus is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission and generates 108 kW of maximum power and 245 Nm of torque.
Chinese automaker Wuling has revealed the all-new Hong Guang Plus MPV, which will go on sale in China in October.
The Hong Guang Plus is 4,722 millimetres long, 1,840 millimetres wide and 1,810 millimetres tall, with a wheelbase of 2,800 millimetres, making it the largest member of the Hong Guang family.
The company says the Hong Guang Plus has adopted the Hong Guang family’s new lean and tough design philosophy. Its parallel and angled lines are inspired by the Chinese character 鼎 (a traditional ceremonial vessel). The front end of the Hong Guang Plus highlights its steady stance through the integration of the headlamps, grille and lower fascia.
A floating roof and rocker communicate the modern simplicity of the vehicle. Vertical rear lamps further accentuate the steady stance as well as the width of the Hong Guang Plus. The MPV will initially come with a choice of four exterior colours: Celestine Blue, Jet Black, Polar White and Sterling Silver.
The Hong Guang Plus is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It generates 108 kW of maximum power and 245 Nm of maximum torque. Its torque is equivalent to the torque of a 2.4-litre engine at 1,400 rpm. It reaches a maximum torque level from 2,200 to 3,900 rpm, for impressive acceleration and hill-climbing and heavy load-carrying capability.
The Hong Guang is one of the most popular vehicle nameplates in China, with more than 4.5 million units sold since its introduction.
