World debut for Toyota’s new crossover at Paris Motor Show

On October 2, Toyota will have the official world premiere of its C-HR Concept makes its world debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Toyota says its new hybrid-powered crossover concept "gives an early hint of a kind of vehicle we would like to bring to market" in the future.

The C-HR Concept, shown in full in these official renderings ahead of its Paris motor show debut next month, also previews new design themes that will adorn the manufacturer's future production models.

Toyota says “the C-HR Concept introduces an expressive new, diamond architecture styling theme to the segment. Below a compact, sensual cabin profile, the lower bodywork has been sculpted to represent the facetted surfaces of a highly-durable, precision-cut gemstone.”

Flared wheel arches, angular rear shoulders and 'floating' rear lamp clusters give the C-HR Concept a broad stance.

The Japanese company goes on to say that "the C-HR concept combines a powerful new design language with an engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain".

A production version of the C-HR would sit below the RAV4 compact SUV in the firm's line-up and could reach production in 2017.

The Paris show will also be the venue for the first European appearance of the finalised exterior design of Toyota's Fuel Cell Vehicle, which is due to be launched in Europe next year.
