Toyota employees have won two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal in their respective fields at the 43rd World Skills Competition, held from August 11 to 16 in São Paulo, Brazil. In total, Toyota fielded 12 representatives across seven fields, with contestants hailing from India, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

Commenting on the results, president Akio Toyoda said: "Brazil was the location for our first overseas production facility, so it's safe to say that our relationship with the country is a particularly meaningful one. I am extremely impressed by how our young engineers―the future of the company―have displayed their skills so impressively. I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who supported us, as well as my admiration for the hard work of all the Toyota representatives present―not only from Japan but also India, Indonesia, Thailand, and the UK. With the aim of achieving sustainable growth, we will continue to invest in human resource development and promote best practices in craftsmanship."
