Tata Motors Group’s global sales up 11% in March 2016

The Group's cumulative wholesales for this fiscal included 1,066,254 vehicles, up 8% YoY.

Tata Motors Group’s global sales up 11% in March 2016

The Tata Motors Group, which includes Jaguar Land Rover, sold a total of 118,750 vehicles in March 2016, up 11% over the same period last year. The cumulative wholesales for this fiscal included 1,066,254 units, up 8% Year-on-Year (YoY). 

The global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in March 2016 stood at 45,235 units, up 18%, YoY. The cumulative commercial vehicles wholesales for this fiscal were higher by 4%, over the last fiscal, at 391,629 units.

Further, the Group sold a total of 73,515 passenger vehicles in March, up 8% YoY; while the cumulative passenger vehicles wholesales for this fiscal stood at 674,625 units, higher by 11%, over the last fiscal.

Meanwhile, the global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover were 64,579 vehicles. Jaguar wholesales for the month were 13,370 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 102,106 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 51,209 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 441,979 vehicles. Cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal were 544,085 vehicles.

Further, Jaguar Land Rover also posted record sales for FY2015-16 with 521,571 vehicles sold, up 13% year-on-year (YoY). This was the company's strongest performing fiscal year ever. The automaker also reported its best ever March sales, closing off a record month, quarter and financial year.
