Suzuki Motor Corp’s global production down in February
Overseas production volume decreased year-on-year as a result of the decrease in countries including China and India, despite an increase in some markets like Hungary and Thailand.
Suzuki Motor Corporation today revealed its preliminary figures for automobile production, sales in the Japanese home market and exports.

In its home market of Japan, production volumes decreased year-on-year due to the decrease in production for both domestic and exports. Overseas production volume decreased year-on-year as a result of the decrease in countries including China and India (118,219 units/-2.83% YoY), despite an increase in some markets including Hungary and Thailand. As a result, Suzuki’s overall global production volume decreased year-on-year following the reduced production volumes in both Japan and overseas markets.

In Japan, mini vehicle sales fell year-on-year following a decrease in sales of models including the Wagon R, despite increase in sales of models including the Every and the Carry. Standard and small vehicle sales in Japan increased year-on-year owing to the increase in sales of models including the Solio and the launch of the all-new Ignis. Total Japan market sales of minivehicle and standard and small vehicle sales decreased year-on-year.
On the export front, overall exports decreased in February due to the decrease in exports to global markets including Latin America and Africa.
