Price of KTM bikes hiked, move to offset costly raw materials

The Austrian manufacturer has hiked the price of every model in its Indian line-up.

Price of KTM bikes hiked, move to offset costly raw materials

Autocar India had recently revealed that KTM was increasing the price of the 125 Duke in India, but going by the company’s latest price list, it appears that the entire range has received a price hike. This includes the likes of the 250 Duke, RC 390 and the 390 Duke.

The price hike ranges from as little as Rs 2,000 on some models to up to Rs 9,000 on the RC 390. The company’s most expensive offering, the 390 Duke, has gone up in price by around Rs 4,000. Interestingly, this makes the 2019 390 Duke Rs 10,000 more expensive than the 2018 model and more than Rs 20,000 pricier than the 2017 model.

A number of reasons have been cited for the price hike. The most common of which would be the increasing costs of raw materials and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. These also happen to be the reasons for which we saw Kawasaki hike prices for its entire line just last month.
