In September, Pope Francis gave his blessing to the Toyota-Pescar Centre as part of ‘Scholas Occurrentes’, a global network of schools. Scholas aims to promote the interaction of schools around the world in the pursuit of providing education without exclusion.
Toyota Motor Corporation Regional CEO for Latin America and the Caribbean Steve St. Angelo and Toyota Argentina President Daniel Herrero met Pope Francis and the Director of Scholas, José María del Corral, who commended Toyota Argentina’s work to promote education.
The Toyota-Pescar Center, based in Zárate, Argentina where Toyota Argentina operates a vehicle manufacturing plant, looks at education as a means of social integration. The centre will offer personal and job training to young people with limited resources to promote opportunities that would give them the tools to successfully enter the labour market.
