Norma Group bags large order from Korean carmaker
Beginning in 2017, the Group will manufacture several million joining products per year at its plant in Changzhou, China, and equip around 8 million vehicles worldwide by the year 2021.
Norma Group, a global supplier of engineered joining technology, has received a major order from a Korean carmaker. Beginning in 2017, the Group will manufacture several million joining products per year at its plant in Changzhou, China, and equip around 8 million vehicles worldwide by the year 2021. Normaclamp V PP and V 2PP profile clamps are used in turbochargers and urea systems. The vehicles will meet the Euro 6 C emission standard, which will become effective from September 2017 within the European Union and also in Korea.
“We are very pleased about this major long-term order in the field of global automobile production,” says Werner Deggim, CEO of Norma Group. “This will enable us to continue to pursue our goal of achieving further growth in Asia, especially in China and Korea. With our strategy of setting up the value chain locally where our customers are based, we will be able to continue to develop new markets and expand.”
Normaconnect V PP and V 2PP profile clamps are designed for space-saving installation in motor vehicles. These clamps are easy to install and have a positive impact on the total weight of a vehicle due to their low weight. This, in turn, means they help to reduce emissions. The patented joining products for flanged pipes are used in various applications, including exhaust, cooling, and filtration systems, but also in turbochargers and charged air applications.
Norma Group has been active in China since 2007. Besides its production site in Qingdao, the company also opened a second plant in Changzhou in May 2014.
