Nissan's global sales increase after two months in February
The Japanese carmaker posted positive sales despite the 21st consecutive month of decrease in mini-vehicles sales in its home country (down 2.8% YoY to 62,872 units).
Nissan Motor Co’s global sales for the month of February increased 0.5% year-on-year to 418,685 units, the first increase in two months.

Meanwhile, sales outside Japan increased 1.1% year-on-year to 355,813 units, the tenth consecutive month of increase.
The U.S. and Mexico both posted a record February with sales up 10.5% YoY to 130,911 units and 12.9% increase YoY to 28,691 units, respectively.
Europe too posted its best February with sales up 0.6% to 59,049 units. The record was set despite Russia posting a 26.8% dip in sales.
Further, sales in China also decreased 13% YoY to 61,099 units; while sales in rest of the regions decreased 5.8% YoY to 66,935 units.

Global production up 8.3%
Nissan's global production in February increased 8.3% YoY to 414,239 units, which was also the first increase in two months.
The production in Japan continued to remain negative with a dip of 1.6% YoY to 83,835 units, the third consecutive month of decrease.
However, production outside Japan increased 11.2% YoY to 330,404 units, the 10th consecutive month of increase.
The U.S. and Mexico continued their fine record in February as production in both nations increased by 18.1% and 9.2%, respectively.
Meanwhile, production in other regions increased 8.6% year-on-year to 61,869 units.
