Kia to unveil hydrogen light tactical concept vehicle at European defence expo

The Korean automaker, which is participating in the MSPO, Europe’s largest defence exhibition, for the first time will display the hydrogen light tactical vehicle, a cargo truck and also a mortar-mounted vehicle.

Kia to unveil hydrogen light tactical concept vehicle at European defence expo

Kia is participating in the MSPO 2023 defence industry exhibition, which opens at the Kielce Exhibition Center in Poland today and continues till September 8. Now in its 30th year, the MSPO defense expo is the largest international defence industry exhibition in Europe.

This year, Kia will unveil the 'Hydrogen ATV (Hydrogen-powered Light Tactical Vehicle) Concept Car' for the first time in Europe, and also exhibit a small tactical vehicle 4-seater cargo truck and also a mortar mounted vehicle.

According to Kia, the 'Hydrogen ATV Concept Car' is a vehicle that has upgraded the existing engine-driven ATV concept car by using hydrogen power. It not only enables safer mission performance through low-noise manoeuvering, but also can pre-emptively respond to eco-friendly policies, making it an ideal vehicle for future battlefield environments.

The small tactical vehicle '4-seater cargo truck', which sees a change in the design of the existing cargo truck, is equipped with a loading box that can transport troops and weapons at the same time, and is characterised by various power utilisation.

The small tactical vehicle 'Mortar Mounted Vehicle' is based on Kia's cab chassis truck, and can be deployed in various forms depending on the purpose of use, further increasing efficiency.

Kia's compact tactical vehicle is equipped with a 225hp and an 8-speed automatic transmission and has the highest level of performance in its class. It has been used as a representative means of transportation for the Korean Armed Forces since mass production in 2016.
