Kia Motors posts global sales of 251,216 vehicles in June, up 5.9%

The Sportage SUV with 45,725 units sold was Kia's best-seller, followed by the Rio and the Sorento.

Kia Motors posts global sales of 251,216 vehicles in June, up 5.9%

Kia Motors Corporation has sold a total of 251,216 passenger cars, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles in June 2018, recording an increase of 5.9 percent from June 2017. This marks a year-on-year increase for the fourth month in a row.

Overseas sales climbed 7.8 percent compared to the previous year, posting 205,216 units. The sales momentum was led by Kia’s SUVs. While the  Sorento saw sales soar more than 40 percent compared to June 2017 with 22,832 units, the Sportage also had a strong month as sales increased 19.6 percent over the previous year.

Sales in Korea totaled 46,000 units, representing a decrease of 2.2 percent compared with the same month last year.

Kia’s best-selling model in global markets during June 2018 was the Sportage compact SUV with 45,725 units sold. The Rio subcompact sedan was the second best seller with 33,012 units sold, followed by the Sorento midsize SUV with 29,150 units sold.
