Hyundai looks to become Europe’s biggest Asian car maker by 2021
The Kona, the fourth SUV in the Korean car maker’s model line-up, will be the first of 30 new models and variants to be launched by the Korean carmaker in Europe.
Hyundai Motor Co has revealed a teaser image of the Kona, which it plans to launch in Europe in the third quarter of this year. The preview image suggests the SUV will have a new, more aggressive-looking design than Hyundai's current models.
The Kona will be the fourth SUV in the Korean car maker’s model line-up after the Grand Sante Fe, Santa Fe and the Tucson. The Kona is charged with taking Europe by storm to make Hyundai the biggest Asian car maker in the market by 2021, launching 30 new models and variants.
The Kona, which gets its name from a district in Hawaii, is described by Hyundai as a 'true SUV', suggesting it’ll have four-wheel drive and could share technology with the larger Santa Fe.
