Under the theme “Generate, use and get connected for energy”, Honda will exhibit a range of low carbon and energy management technologies at La Galerie des Solutions, a connected event to the ‘COP21’ UN convention on climate change in Paris.

The exhibit will include a mock-up of Honda’s Smart Hydrogen Station (SHS), designed to support the hydrogen needs of a small community. Using the SHS ‘Power creator’ feature, the station has the ability to capture solar energy, use that energy to power electrolysis of water, and produce 1.5 kg of hydrogen per day. With a storage capacity of 18kg, an operational SHS can fully fuel four FCVs. SHS technology is currently undergoing trials in Japan.

Honda vehicles on display include a mock-up of the all-new Clarity Fuel Cell and its accompanying ‘Power Exporter 9000’ device. The Power Exporter allows a compatible vehicle to provide a home with power in times of emergency or shortage. Production versions of both Clarity Fuel Cell and Power Exporter 9000 will be on sale in Japan in 2016.

Honda’s latest EV charging solutions will also be demonstrated, following the commencement of a trial using Honda Fit EVs in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
