Honda’s motorcycle production in Brazil breezes past 20-million mark

Moto Honda da Amazonia Ltd (HDA), a Honda motorcycle and power products production and sales subsidiary in Brazil, has announced that Honda's cumulative motorcycle production in Brazil reached the 20 million-unit mark. The 20-millionth unit produced by HDA was a CG150 Titan, a new model introduced on August 1 this year. The CG Series has seen cumulative sales of more than 10 million units since its introduction in Brazil in 1976.

The all-new CG150 Titan became the first model in the small-sized motorcycle category, which accounts for approximately 80 percent of the overall motorcycle market in Brazil, to feature CBS (Combined Brake System for front and rear wheels) as standard equipment, which enables stable braking and stopping.

HDA began motorcycle production in Brazil in 1976 with the CG125 and continued its sales expansion mostly with the CG Series, the most-mass-produced motorcycle series in the market. HDA's cumulative motorcycle production reached the 10 million-unit milestone in 2007.

In 2009, the company began sales of the CG150 Titan Mix, which was the world's first motorcycle model equipped with environmentally-responsible flex-fuel technology. In 2013, HDA sold 1.22 million units, accounting for 80 percent of the overall motorcycle sales in Brazil.
