Honda HR-V gets 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating
The ASEAN NCAP collision tests have been conducted in collaboration between Global NCAP and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), an agency under the Ministry of Transport, since 2011.
Asian Honda Motor Co has announced that the HR-V SUV has received a 5-star rating in the crash test conducted by ASEAN NCAP at the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS). ASEAN NCAP is the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia region, a new addition to the NCAP program. It is aimed to evaluate vehicle safety standard in order to increase consumer awareness and boost a market for safer vehicles in ASEAN region.
The ASEAN NCAP collision tests have been conducted in collaboration between Global NCAP and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), an agency under the Ministry of Transport, since 2011.
The HR-V achieved a 5-star rating in the frontal offset crash test with scores of 15.21 out of 16.00 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 73% in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
The HR-V comes equipped with features such as Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and six airbags – Dual SRS, i-Side airbags, and side curtain airbags.
According to Honda, since the car’s launch in ASEAN in 2014, the SUV has seen very good sales performances in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Philippines.

Variants without VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) and SBR (Seatbelt Reminder) for both front occupants are rated 4-star for Civic, CR-V, City (2014MY), and Jazz.
