It's not common for a professional to move from a two-wheeler company to a carmaker. More so, moving from an Indian two-wheeler OEM to a global car alliance. Here's one. Arun Siddharth, the former vice-president – marketing for premium motorcycles, racing, international business of two-wheeler major TVS Motor, has joined the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance last week.
His first role in the alliance is that of General Manager in Charge – Global Sales and Marketing, Nissan. Siddharth will be based in Japan for the new role, which also includes aftersales and dealer network development. His appointment at Nissan also reflects the global major multi-cultural management model.
Siddharth moved out of TVS Motor in March this year after a 16-year-long stint at the Chennai-headquartered two- and three-wheeler major. He rose through the ranks at TVS Motor handling multiple responsibilities which included product planning under the TVS-BMW Motorrad alliance. It was Siddharth's first job after completing his MBA in finance /marketing.
