Faurecia says it has stepped up to second place in the Jaguar Land Rover Supplier League, a regularly customer-audited group of 26 major suppliers.
Three times a year, Jaguar Land Rover audits its 26 major suppliers in two fields: the production quality for serial life and the ‘forward model quality’ (development tools and processes quality). A total of 34 points are reviewed, such as warranty (customer claims) or quality KPI for serial life, virtual detection tools (simulation) or geometry for development. An intermediary ranking is published after each of the three audits, with a final consolidation every year.
Faurecia Interior Systems considerably improved its Supplier League results this year thanks to a strong turnaround of the Fradley plant (UK), which enabled a better serial life production management and therefore a better plant performance.
At Customer Business Unit and Engineering level, a solid implementation of the Faurecia standards and a re-organization of teams enabled a better understanding of customer expectations in the development process.
Faurecia supplies the door panels of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and the instrument panel and the centre console of the Discovery 4. Fradley is the largest South Europe plant in terms of sales, 80 percent of the plant's volumes deliver JLR's UK-based production in Solihull.
