The Volkswagen Group has awarded Faurecia with its ‘Group Award 2016’ which is reserved for its best suppliers worldwide and part of 21 global suppliers honoured this year.
The 2016 award was presented earlier this month to Yann Delabrière, chairman and CEO of Faurecia in Berlin, Germany by Matthias Müller, chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, and Dr. Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Member of the Board of Management in charge of Procurement.
This award is the second major appointment by Volkswagen Group this year. Recently, Faurecia was honored as FAST (Future Automotive Supply Tracks) strategic partner for all-three of its activities. Since the nomination of its Automotive Seating and Interior Systems activities in 2015, Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies was added to the partnership this year.
"In the new world of mobility, what counts is speed and flexibility, an innovative spirit and entrepreneurial courage, working in knowledge networks that do not stop at Group or industry boundaries. That is why we are opening up to new collaborations, and we are making cooperation with our existing partners more intensive, more highly innovative and more efficient," said Matthias Müller.
“Faurecia teams worldwide are honored to yet again receive this prestigious distinction from Volkswagen Group, our first customer worldwide. As a recognized Volkswagen FAST supplier, Faurecia is committed to delivering outstanding industrial performance and the full-power of its innovation teams for future vehicles. We will continue to work in close partnership with Volkswagen Group brands on a global scale in the fields of sustainable mobility and the cockpit of the future,” said Yann Delabrière.
Decisive factors for the Volkswagen Group Award were in particular Faurecia’s competitive proposals as well as the development of innovative and exclusive interior and seating solutions.
With around 23% of Faurecia 2015 sales with Audi, Porsche, Seat, Škoda, Volkswagen and other brands of the Group, the Volkswagen Group remains Faurecia’s most important customer globally.
