Dr Pawan Goenka conferred FISITA Academy of Technical Leadership Award 2019

FISITA, the international membership organisation for the automotive and mobility systems engineering profession, has honoured Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, with the FISITA Academy of Technical Leadership Award 2019.

The FISITA Academy of Technical Leadership, with Automotive News as Official Media Partner, is a unique status within the automotive and mobility systems engineering community. Recipients are recognised as leading technologists who have made a significant commitment and contribution within the industry.

Dr. Pawan Goenka is a part of this exclusive group of international technologists, following a strict review and selection process, which identifies no more than 20 outstanding achievers to the Academy each year. Dr Goenka was acknowledged and recognised at FISITA’s World Mobility Summit in Nagoya, Japan in November.

Commenting on the award, Dr Pawan Goenka said: “I’m greatly honoured and humbled to be named in the inaugural FISITA Academy of Technical Leadership. My heartfelt gratitude to FISITA and my industry colleagues for this technical leadership award. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the collective zeal and effort of my colleagues over the past 29 years who have contributed to what our company and what I as an individual have achieved.”

Dr. Goenka earned his B.Tech  in Mechanical Engineering from I.I.T., Kanpur and Ph.D. from Cornell University, U.S.A. He is also a Graduate of Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School. He worked at General Motors R&D Centre in Detroit, U.S.A. from 1979 to 1993. Thereafter, he joined Mahindra & Mahindra, as General Manager (R&D) and was appointed Managing Director in 2016.

Recipients of the FISITA Academy of Technical Leadership were unveiled at the Summit in Nagoya, Japan on November 5.
