Dongfeng Nissan targets first-time Chinese car buyers with Venucia R30

Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV), a business unit of Dongfeng Motor Co, Nissan's joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co of China, has launched the R30, the fourth production model from its local Venucia brand and the first entry-class model.

The Venucia R30 (3775 x 1665 x 1530mm) was developed based on a Nissan global platform and is tailored to the first time-buyer segment in China. As an entry level car, its starting price is set at RMB 39,900 (Rs 3.86 lakh).  It is powered by a 1.2-litre HR12DE engine.

In the first half of CY2014, Venucia sales totaled 57,866 units, a 32.5 percent year-on-year increase. Since launch in April 2012, Venucia has sold more than 200,000 vehicles and is one of the fastest-growing Chinese automotive brands.
