Castrol renews global partnership with Volvo Cars

Lubricant manufacturer Castrol has further renewed its global partnership with premium car maker Volvo Car Group for 16 years. The agreement includes engine oils, gear oils and greases for all new Volvo cars and supply of lubricants to the company's dealerships across the globe.

According to the partnership, the two companies will work together on improving fuel efficiency, enabling Volvo engines to manage variations in fuel quality in different parts of the world and the implications of future mobility trends. Scientists from Castrol and Volvo’s engineers have worked closely on the development of Volvo’s latest Drive–E engines to create bespoke engine oils, which contribute to the fuel efficiency gains in its latest line-up of hybrid, gasoline and diesel powertrains.

Danny Carlisle, VP, Strategic Co-operation, Global Accounts, Castrol said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Volvo Car Group which is now in its 16th year.  We share many common objectives and this agreement will allow us to jointly deliver technological innovation and real benefits to Volvo dealers and customers.”

Commenting on the agreement, Martin Persson, VP, Volvo Car Global Customer Service, said:  “It is of immense importance for us to be able to ensure that Volvo drivers all over the world are offered the right oil, so their engines can be fully protected and perform at their best. We are very satisfied with the dedication, innovative spirit, engineering excellence and comprehensive support of the Castrol team, and I look forward to our continued collaboration over the coming years.”
