Biggest ever Automechanika Kuala Lumpur opens today
Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2015, the premiere trade event in the ASEAN region for the automotive and aftermarket industry, has opened today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2015, the premiere trade event in the ASEAN region for the automotive and aftermarket industry, has opened today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The fair is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organised by the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI).
This year’s fair has grown to cover four halls, encompassing 7,465 square metres of exhibiting space which is an increase of 49 percent. Featuring over 240 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, the event has a 26 percent increase in exhibitors. New exhibiting countries for 2015 are Bulgaria, Poland and Spain and the returning countries and regions include Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. There will be five pavilions this year, China, the European Union, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand (first appearance).
Some of the leading players this year are Areon, California Scents, CTEK, HML Auto, Launch Tech, MA-FRA, Mazda, Meklas Automotive, Newera Equipment, Prince Lubricants, Proton, Shell Helix, Stahlwille, Vierol Asia, V L Test Systems, Winhere Auto-Part and Wonder Internation.
There is considerable focus on eco-friendly motoring and will include a series of activities including seminars, test drives, product showcases and demonstrations. Japanese carmaker Mazda will display its latest models of EEVs.
Malaysian carmaker Proton and Mai will launch the ‘Safe Car Event’ where a ‘cutaway’ vehicle will be displayed to demonstrate quality safe parts and components, as well as technologies to visitors. “As an automobile industry fair organiser, we assist in promoting the development of industry advances here at Automechanika Kuala Lumpur. We hope by hosting such events as the Safe Car Event in our Go Green programme, we can help raise awareness of road safety and environmental protection. We believe Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is a wonderful platform for gathering industry players from around the world to work this out,” said Fiona Chiew, deputy general manager, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd.
This year’s fair will also see the return of the successful Automechanika Kuala Lumpur Mechanics Challenge. The grand finale among the eight winning teams of the preliminary test will be held onsite throughout the show.
Other featured programmes include the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) Automotive Aftermarket Conference 2015, the Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners’ Association of Malaysia (FAWOAM) Annual Convention and the Federation of Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association Malaysia (FEMPTAM) Committee Meeting, offering educational and networking opportunities for the fair participants.
Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is one of 14 Automechanika fairs held in Africa, Asia, Europe and America.
