Autoliv and Seeing Machines to reveal camera-based driver monitoring tech at CES 2018

Autoliv the global leader in automotive safety systems will showcase Seeing Machines camera-based driver monitoring technology in its Learning Intelligent Vehicle (LIV) 2.0, the next phase of human/machine interaction at CES 2018 in Las Vegas.

Seeing Machines, a leader in computer vision technologies that enable machines to see, understand and assist people has delivered its camera-based Driver Monitoring System (DMS) technology to Autoliv.

This announcement follows to the recently announced collaboration between Seeing Machines and Autoliv, wherein the companies have worked together to integrate Seeing Machines' market leading DMS technology, based on its FOVIO driver monitoring platform, into Autoliv's LIV2.0 vehicles for enhancing Autoliv's existing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) offering. This will include awareness of the driver attention state and other key safety indicators, such as distraction or drowsiness.

The technology generates highly robust and real-time head, face, eyelid and precision eye gaze tracking signals that allows for reliable understanding of driver state, thus enabling Autoliv's development of highly autonomous driving functions, with safe hands-off-wheel operation. As part of the collaboration, Autoliv will serve as a Tier 1 integrator of Seeing Machines technology, and overall system supplier to OEMs.
