The winner of the prestigious 2017 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) title will be revealed on April 13 at the New York Motor Show. Vying for top spot are the Audi Q5, the Jaguar F-Pace and the Volkswagen Tiguan. All of them are SUVs, which is proof enough of the growing demand for such vehicles globally and the importance automakers accord to them.
Interestingly, India will get all three SUVs; the Jaguar F-Pace is already on sale since last year. The Volkswagen Group has two finalists with the second-generation Q5 and Tiguan making the cut. The winners will be announced at the New York Motor Show on April 13, 2017.
Along with the WCOTY winner, the winners of the World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Green Car, World Car Design of the Year and the inaugural World Urban Car will also be announced. Here’s looking at the shortlisted cars in each of the six categories.
