Delphi to offer ‘MyFi’ as OE fitment in passenger cars in India

Speaking to Autocar Professional at the trade fair, Faisal Matin, country director India and subcontinent, product and service solutions, and Dominic Yuklam Seto, vice-president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and MD, Asia-Pacific, said that the plan is to bring MyFi to India for OE fitment in passenger cars in the near future. They revealed that some software for this MyFi product offering has been developed by Delphi’s Bangalore Tech Centre, which focusses on infotainment systems and engine management systems.

What is MyFi?

The MyFi product family is designed to enable vehicle manufacturers to offer infotainment solutions that address the increasing connectivity requirements of consumers. Offering innovative implementation of features such as Bluetooth, WiFi, cellular connectivity, natural voice recognition, hands-free system operation and audio streaming, MyFi integrated infotainment products provide the right level of connectivity for each specific application. Premium MyFi connectivity solutions can even leverage local and wide area networks for smart phone apps, remote servers and cloud-based services.

Delphi says MyFi infotainment systems help vehicle manufacturers meet the needs of today's ‘connected’ consumers by integrating infotainment, user experience, active safety, workload management and body security technology to minimise distraction, take advantage of Delphi's safety system expertise and provide maximum value to vehicle manufacturers and consumers.

MyFi products are also scalable, offering various feature / function levels, depending on customer requirements. Providing a well-structured architecture, these systems also enable vehicle manufacturers to offer world-class infotainment systems that can be easily updated through software modifications in response to trends and technology advancement. In line with Delphi’s overall mantra of green, safe and connected, the company plans to keep supporting the automotive industry with vehicle electronic components and engine management systems.
