While both the VF6 and VF7 logged month-on-month growth in May, their cumulative April-May 2026 wholesales show the VF7 (1,210 units) having a 277-unit lead over the VF6 (933 units).
The VF6 and VF7, the first two Vinfast EV models that are locally assembled and launched in India in September 2025, account for 2,143 units, or 53% of the company’s total wholesales of 4,073 units in the past two months. Both the VF6 and VF7 e-SUVs have achieved 5-star Bharat NCAP crash test safety ratings.

The VF6, priced from Rs 17.29 lakh to Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom), is the company’s most affordable EV in India and is positioned below the VF7. This e-SUV comes with a 59.6kWh battery pack mated with either a 177hp or a 204hp electric motor, depending on the chosen variant. It offers a front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup and accelerates from 0-100kph in 8.9 seconds. Rivals to the VF6, which has a claimed range of 463km-480km, include the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, Toyota Ebella, Maruti e Vitara, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
The five-variant VF7 is the most premium e-SUV in the Vietnamese manufacturer’s Indian line-up, priced between Rs 21.89 lakh and Rs 26.79 lakh. Available in both all-wheel-drive (AWD) and front-wheel-drive (FWD) setups, it is also the most affordable EV in India to get an AWD setup. Equipped with either a 59.6kWh or 70kWh battery pack option and an ARAI-claimed range of up to 532km, the VF7 does the 0-100kph run in 5.8 seconds, which is the quickest in its segment. On June 5 – World Environment Day – Green SM, a Vinfast company, launched the VF Limo Green in India, making India Green SM’s fifth international market after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines for the launch of the fully electric taxi service. With the Limo Green, which marks Vinfast’s foray into the Indian commercial vehicle segment, the company joins the list of mass-market carmakers offering fleet-specific models, including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota and Hyundai. The first phase has seen the Green Limo commence operations in key areas of Delhi NCR.

Vinfast India’s retail sales, comprising the VF6, VF7, MPV7 and Green Limo, have become faster since April. The 3,564 EVs sold between April 1 and June 19 account for 59% of its 6,029 units delivered.
Vinfast Retail Sales Cross 6,000 Units Since Market Entry
Vinfast India, which began retail sales around 10 months ago, has surpassed 6,000 EV deliveries as of June 19, 2026. Cumulative sales, as per Vahan, are 6,029 units (see retail sales data table above). Monthly sales crossed the 1,000-unit mark for the first time in April 2026 (1,297 units), dropped a tad MoM in May (1,263 units) and, with 1,004 units sold in the first 19 days of June, should cross 1,500 units this month.
In the current calendar year's first five months and 19 days, Vinfast India has clocked retail sales of 5,191 units, which gives it a 4% share of the total 132,417 electric passenger vehicles sold in India. At present, it is ranked fifth amongst the 18 e-PV OEMs. Tata Motors leads with a 39% share, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra (23% share), JSW MG Motor India (22% share) and Maruti (4%), which, with 5,397 units, currently has a lead of 206 EVs over Vinfast India.
Vinfast will be looking to achieve higher sales traction when it launches the VF5 hatchback later this year, likely around the festive season. The VF5 is likely to go head-to-head against the Tata Tiago EV or Punch EV, depending upon its specifications.
The company, whose dealer network currently spans over 50 outlets, plans to set up 75 dealerships by the end of the year across more than 60 cities in India. This expansion strategy will not only focus on metro cities and major urban hubs but also extend to emerging markets.
