Bajaj Auto today reported a 24% on-year growth in its total sales during February, primarily driven by strong double-digit improvement in domestic two-wheeler despatches.

The Pune-based automaker sold a total of 346,662 vehicles in the month, versus 280,226 vehicles in the year-ago period. Total two-wheeler sales rose 25% on year to 294,684 units, while commercial vehicle sales increased 16% to 51,978 units.

Two-wheeler sales in the domestic market jumped 45% on year to 170,527 and exports improved by 8% to 124,157 units. Robust demand momentum is driving a gradual recovery in the domestic two-wheeler market, and a low base in the year-ago period, aided growth numbers.

Domestic commercial vehicle sales came in at 36,367 units, up 10% on year. Exports also grew 31% to 15,611 units.

Bajaj Auto’s total wholesales during April-February rose 10% on year to 3,985,029 units. Two-wheeler sales were 7% higher at 3,414,038 units, while commercial vehicle sales jumped 30% on year to 570,991 units.
