Launched in September 2022, Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s first midsize SUV, whose strong hybrid variants are a big draw, achieves new sales milestone. The Hyryder, which has risen four ranks in CY2025 to be the No. 15 UV in India, is also the best-selling Maruti-rebadged model for the company.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has driven past the 200,000 sales milestone in the domestic market in a little over three years (40 months) after launch on September 9, 2022. That this milestone would be achieved in December was accurately forecast in Autocar Professional’s November 15 sales analysis.
The Hyryder is Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s first midsize SUV. Considering the company entered the midsize SUV market in India much later than most of its rivals, the Hyryder seems to be making up for lost time. This rebadged version of the Maruti Grand Vitara has till end-December 2025 sold a total of 203,312 units in the domestic market.
In calendar year 2025, the Hyryder has clocked wholesales of 85,710 units, up 36% YoY (CY2024: 62,956 units). This gives it the 15th rank in the Top 30 UVs of CY2025, rising four positions above its No. 19 it had in CY2024 (62,956 units) as well as in CY2023 (42,782 units).

Between October 2024 to December 2025, Toyota has dispatched 100,786 Hyryders to its dealers across the country.

While the first 50,000 Hyryders were sold in a little over 15 months, the next 50,000 units took 11 months. The 150,000 sales mark was surpassed in June 2025. Proof of the surging demand for the model is the last 100,000 units have been sold in 15 months – between October 2024 to December 2025, 100,786 Hyryders have been dispatched by the factory to Toyota dealers across the country. indicative of the frenetic pace of customer demand for the Toyota Hyryder as well as its growing share of TKM sales.
In FY2023, the Hyryder (22,839 units) accounted for 13% of TKM’s 173,245 units. This rose to 20% in FY2024 (48,916 units out of TKM’s 245,000 PVs and FY2025 (60,388 units out of TKM’s 309,230 PVs). In the current fiscal’s first nine months, the Hyryder 71,169 units give it a 26% share of TKM’s total PV dispatches of 270,437 units.
On the export front, it is estimated that the Hyryder has clocked overseas dispatches of over 77,000 units, including a high of 27,623 units in FY2025. As a result, combined domestic and export market sales of this model are estimated at over 265,000 units.
Continuing from where it left in FY2025, the Hyryder remains the best-selling Maruti-rebadged model for Toyota in FY2026.
As in FY2025, when it was TKM’s best-selling Maruti-rebadged model, the Hyryder (71,169 units) is ahead of the three other badge-engineered models in India that sport the Toyota logo: the Maruti Baleno-based Glanza hatchback (42,888 units), the Fronx-based Urban Cruiser Taisor (26,726 units) and the Ertiga-based Rumion MPV (14,887 units).
