Kia India had plenty of reasons to celebrate last month. August 2026, with factory dispatches of 29,042 passenger vehicles and YoY growth of 48% YoY (August 2025: 19,608 units), turned out to be its best August since the Korean carmaker entered the Indian market seven years ago in August 2019.
Syros ICE and EV Wholesales Hit Fiscal-Year High
August 2026 also marked a revival of demand for the Kia Syros compact SUV model, launched in February 2025 and recently joined by its zero-emission sibling, the Syros EV on July 23, 2026. Last month saw Kia India dispatch 1,742 Syros ICE and electric models, its highest monthly wholesales for this compact SUV in the current fiscal year (see wholesales data table below).
Syros Ranks Among Kia India's Top-Selling Models
In August 2026, the Syros ICE and Syros EV (1,742 units) were the fourth highest-selling model for Kia India after the Seltos (11,716 units), Sonet (9,048 units), Carens ICE and EV (6,093 units) and ahead of the new Sorento (365 units) and Carnival (169 units).
Total wholesales of the Syros, which has a range of up to 526km from February 2025 to August 2026 are 32,404 units, giving this model a 7% share of Kia India’s total wholesales of 476,252 PVs over the past 19 months.
In FY2027’s first five months, the Syros (5,350 units) had a 4% share of Kia’s 136,666 PVs similar to that in FY2026 when it contributed 11,068 units to the company’s sales of 289,035 PVs. The Syros’ highest fiscal year sales were in FY2025 (15,986 units) clocked in January-March 2025 and accounted for 6% of the 255,207 Kia vehicles sold in India.
Kia Syros EV Price and Rival Comparison
Priced between Rs 13.50 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), the Syros EV – Kia’s second mass-market all-electric model in India after the Carens Clavis EV – is the most affordable Kia EV in India. As such, the launch of the Syros EV, whose rivals whose include the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, has had an immediate impact in the retail market.
Kia EV Retail Sales Hit Record High in August
While the ICE and EV model-wise retail splits are not available, the latest Vahan statistics show that 767 Kia EVs comprising the Syros EV and Carens Clavis EV were sold in August 2026, marking a new monthly high for Kia India and surpassing the previous best of 753 units in October 2025.
Kia EV retail sales in August include delivery of 150 Syros EVs on a single day by company dealer Incheon Kia, which is a new record for maximum single-model electric cars delivered in a single day in India. September 2026, however, bids fair to outdo August because in the first 15 days of this month, 433 Kia EVs have been delivered to customers.
