Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India saw its wholesale jump 86% on a year-on-year basis in February with strong growth numbers in domestic sales and exports. The growth figure can be attributed primarily to a low base in the comparable period.
The Japanese two-wheeler maker dispatched a total of 458,711 units in the month, compared with 247,195 units in the same month a year ago. Domestic sales surged 82% on year to 413,967 units while exports more than doubled to 44,744 units from 20,111 units in the year-ago period.
February has been a robust month for most of the two-wheeler makers with double-digit growth in domestic sales. The segment has shown gradual recovery in the last couple of months with green shoots seen in the rural economy.
