The XUV 3XO is the latest model from the Mumbai-based Mahindra & Mahindra to achieve the 500,000 domestic market wholesales milestone. This total comprises sales of the XUV300 launched in April 2024, the rebranded model XUV 3XO introduced in April 2024, and the XUV 3XO EV unveiled in January 2026.
Collated sales data for this Mahindra compact SUV from February 2019 till September 2026 shows total domestic market wholesales at 505,590 units (see data table below). An additional 37,000 units have also been exported.
These 505,590 units give the 3XO brand a 17% share of the 3 million (30,12,830 units) SUVs Mahindra & Mahindra has sold from February 2024 till September 2026. FY2026 (103,341 XUV 3XOs), a marginal 2% improvement over FY2025 (100,923 units), was the best fiscal yet for this compact SUV. In the first six months of FY2027, the 52,851 units are a 19% YoY increase (April-September 2025: 44,400 units) and give the XUV 3XO a 15% share of the 358,142 SUVs M&M dispatched to its dealers.
XUV 3XO Sales Trend: Record Month and the Last 100,000 Units
This Mahindra SUV registered its highest monthly sales in October 2025 (12,237 units) when the 3XO achieved the 400,000 milestone. This also means that the last 100,000 3XOs, comprising both ICE and EV) have been sold in the past 11-odd months.
3XO: MOST AFFORDABLE MAHINDRA ICE AND ELECTRIC SUV
The XUV 3XO compact SUV, which is M&M’s most affordable ICE-powered SUV priced from (as of October 2026) Rs 779,000 to Rs 15.04 lakh (ex-showroom), is the company’s weapon to take on segment leaders Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Hyundai Venue. It comes with three engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.2-litre TGDi petrol with 131hp and 230Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel with 300 Nm torque, and a choice of manual, automatic or AMT gearboxes. The 3XO is among the Mahindra SUVs which have won a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child protection. In September 2026, Mahindra rejigged the XUV 3XO lineup, expanding the RevX lineup while discontinuing some of the previously available trims.
Autocar India’s buyer’s guide commentary on this compact SUV states, “The XUV 3XO offers great value with more features than its rivals. Top-end models are on the pricey side but the performance on offer make them worth the stretch. With a roomy cabin, long list of features, strong engines, and keen pricing, the XUV 3XO is a well-rounded package that’s hard to ignore.”
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV Price, Battery and Range
In January this year, M&M launched the XUV 3XO EV, its most affordable electric offering priced from Rs 13.89 lakh which serves as a successor to the XUV400 EV and directly rivals the Tata Nexon EV. This Mahindra e-SUV’s battery pack option includes a sole 39.4kWh unit with a MIDC-rated claimed range of 351km.
It is powered by a front-axle-mounted (FWD) electric motor that produces 150hp and 310Nm. It has three driving modes (Fun, Fast and Fearless) and does the 0-100kph run in 8.3 seconds.
MAHINDRA TO UP THE ANTE WITH FACTORY-FITTED CNG VARIANT
On October 15, M&M will officially reveal the new XUV 3XO CNG factory-fitted variant with a panoramic sunroof and a front design similar to the RevX range. This addition will make the 3XO – currently available in petrol, diesel and electric powertrains – the third compact SUV in India to offer a CNG option, following the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.
It will also be the second CNG SUV from Mahindra after the KUV100 NXT CNG (Trip Edition) launched in March 2018. The KUV100 had a production run from January 2016 till April 2023 when it was discontinued.
The XUV 3XO CNG is expected to use the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with multi-point fuel injection (MPFI), which produces 111hp and 200Nm in the petrol version.
M&M’s teaser image depicts a closed-off grille design similar to the RevX range, suggesting that the SUV maker may offer the CNG powertrain with the RevX range. The teaser also confirms a panoramic sunroof. Other exterior details are expected to remain largely unchanged from the standard XUV 3XO.
XUV 3XO CNG Demand and FY2027 Sales Outlook
With the addition of a CNG powertrain, the 3XO compact SUV will address a larger target buyer category. Current market trends indicate that CNG-powered vehicles, which typically draw value-conscious buyers keen on lower running costs, now also include others in higher-priced vehicle segments.
CNG is now a mainstream fuel, particularly in the wake of higher petrol and diesel prices, and M&M is looking to tap this growing demand with the XUV 3XO CNG. Suffice it to say that FY2027 should see the XUV 3XO (ICE, EV and CNG) achieve its highest-ever fiscal sales of around 125,000 units.
