Maharashtra’s new EV Policy 2025 to accelerate sales of zero-emission vehicles

Comprehensive five-year Electric Vehicle Policy with an allocation of Rs 1,993 crore is designed to accelerate adoption of electric mobility across all vehicle segments while also rapidly expanding charging infrastructure across the state. In FY2025, Maharashtra was the No. 1 state in sales of e-two-wheelers, electric cars and SUVs, and also e-commercial vehicles.

The state of Maharashtra which celebrates Maharashtra Day today (May 1) and ranked second on the all-India electric vehicle ownership scale in FY2025, has unveiled a bold, new EV Policy 2025 designed to further accelerate demand for electric mobility, which has witnessed strong growth over the past few years.
