'Standard six airbags have struck a chord with customers': Tarun Garg

The head of Hyundai Motor India believes customer safety is of utmost importance and the carmaker assures all new models to have six airbags, along with advanced active and passive safety systems.

Hyundai Motor India, which recently received a five-star safety rating for its new-generation Verna sedan, says safety of its customers is of utmost importance, and its move to make six airbags standard across its entire range has struck a chord with customers.

Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India, talks about how the company has received a positive response to its latest models like the Hyundai Exter crossover, which is the only car in its segment to offer six airbags, right from the base variant.

"As OEMs, we sometimes tend to undermine the customer, who is not ready to compromise on safety. Customers today demand safer cars, and that is why our 'Safety for all' campaign assumes a greater significance, Garg says in this video.

He also updates about the company's roadmap to introduce ADAS features into more of its models, and reveals that all Hyundai models in India will offer ADAS technologies starting 2025.
