Yamaha launches MT-03 at Rs 4.60 lakh

The new Yamaha MT-03 has been priced at Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This price is due to the fact that the MT-03 comes to India as a CBU import from Indonesia. Along with the MT-03, the manufacturer also launched the R3 today.

The MT-03’s design philosophy is similar to the Yamaha MT-15, which has grown to be quite popular in our market. It wears the same aggressive face although the bodywork is larger and more muscular in general. Weighing in at 167kg and with a seat height of 780mm, the MT-03 is a light and easy bike to manage

Like the R3, this bike gets a USD fork and it is otherwise almost identical to its faired sibling under the skin, including the chassis, subframe and 321cc parallel twin motor which makes the same 42hp and 29.5Nm. You can read more about how the new Yamaha MT-03 is to ride by clicking here.

Like its sibling, the MT-03 is simple in terms of features and it comes with dual-channel ABS and an LCD instrument console.

The closest rival to the MT-03 in terms of intent is the KTM Duke 390, which costs Rs 3.1 lakh. There is no other twin-cylinder street naked bike in India in this segment although that could change in the future as Aprilia is likely to be working on a naked sibling to the recently launched RS 457
