Suzuki Motorcycle India sales grow 9% YoY in June

Suzuki Motorcycle India reported 9% growth in its wholesales during June on a year-on-year basis with robust momentum in the domestic market. The  automaker sold a total of 88,287 two-wheelers during the month, against 80,737 units in the year-ago period. Double-digit growth in the domestic market helped the company offset the impact of weakness in exports.

Suzuki Motorcycle India sold 71,086 units in the domestic market, up 13% on year. However, its exports declined to 17,678 units from 17,201 units. “We have got off to a good start in this financial year, with a healthy 15% year-on-year growth in our sales in the first quarter. We are optimistic about maintaining this growth momentum in the months ahead,” said Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and After Sales at Suzuki Motorcycle India.

The company is working on an updated version of its popular Access 125 scooter. Meanwhile, Suzuki Motor Corp plans to close the plant of its subsidiary in Thailand by the end of 2025. The automaker will however continue its sales and aftersales services in the country through importing CBUs from plants within the ASEAN region as well as Japan and India.
