Blue Energy Motors achieves 1 crore kilometres milestone

Blue Energy Motors has announced that its fleet of environmentally friendly trucks has surpassed the milestone of 1 core kilometres on Indian highways. This achievement marks a major step forward in the company's mission to transform India's trucking industry with its fleet of BEM trucks serving some of India’s Fortune 500 companies across various sectors.

By covering this distance, the company has successfully prevented the emission of more than 3000 tonnes of CO2. This achievement is comparable to the annual CO2 absorption capacity of 120,000 mature trees, underscoring the significant positive impact of Blue Energy Motors’ green trucks on the environment, the company shared.

The growth trajectory of India's trucking sector suggests a potential expansion from 4 million vehicles in 2022 to 17 million by 2050, underscoring the importance of sustainable solutions like LNG-powered trucks in mitigating the environmental impact of this growth. According to a recent Niti Ayog report, LNG Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDVs) are poised to constitute 10% of total HDV sales by 2032, offering a cleaner alternative to diesel-powered trucks.

Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, highlighted the importance of this milestone, stating, “Crossing the milestone of 1 crore kilometres is a significant achievement for Blue Energy Motors and a testament to the efficiency and reliability of our zero-emission trucking technology. The government of India has been encouraging the use of alternate fuelled Green Trucks and has been providing relentless support to streamline infrastructure for early adoption of LNG trucks.  We are committed in this journey to provide a cleaner and greener environment by decarbonising heavy-duty trucking and mitigating the impact of transportation on climate change."
