TKM Posts 5% Sales Increase in June, First-Half Sales Rise 16%
The Indian automotive subsidiary sold 28,869 units last month while introducing new hybrid variants of popular SUV models.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported a 5% increase in sales for June 2025, selling 28,869 units compared to 27,474 units in the same month last year. The company's first-half performance showed stronger growth, with sales rising 16% to 174,885 units from January to June 2025, compared to 150,250 units in the corresponding period of 2024.
Of the June sales figure, 26,453 units were sold in the domestic market while 2,416 units were exported. The sales growth comes as the automotive industry continues to recover and adapt to changing consumer preferences in the Indian market.
During June, the company launched updated versions of its Fortuner and Legender SUVs featuring what it calls "Neo Drive" technology. These variants include a 48-volt mild hybrid system designed to improve fuel efficiency and driving performance. The company indicated the new models have received positive market response.
TKM also signed a memorandum of understanding with Ohmium International, a proton exchange membrane hydrogen technology provider, to explore green hydrogen-powered solutions including microgrids for data centers and remote locations with environmental restrictions.
"We continue to strongly engage with our customers through after sales service support offerings and value-added offerings that are aimed at enriching their ownership experience," said Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at TKM.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi with a combined installed production capacity of up to 342,000 units annually. The company, established in 1997, is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan, which holds 89% equity, and India's Kirloskar Systems Limited with 11%.
The manufacturer produces models including the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Legender, Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Hilux for both domestic sales and export markets.
