Tata Motors Expands XPRES Fleet Portfolio with Petrol and CNG Variants

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has expanded its XPRES fleet portfolio by launching petrol and CNG variants, complementing the existing electric model. The new offerings were announced on January 23, 2026, with introductory prices starting at ₹5.59 lakh for the petrol variant and ₹6.59 lakh for the CNG variant, ex-showroom Delhi.

The newly launched vehicles are powered by the company's 1.2-litre Revotron engine paired with a manual transmission. The CNG variant introduces what the company describes as a segment-first 70-litre twin-cylinder fuel tank, which allows for extended travel range while maintaining boot space—a common concern for fleet operators.

According to the manufacturer, the twin-cylinder configuration addresses a persistent challenge in the commercial vehicle segment by preserving cargo capacity. The petrol variant offers 419 litres of boot space, while the CNG version maintains competitive storage despite the fuel tank installation.

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., stated that the expansion responds to feedback from fleet customers regarding operational challenges. The company positioned the XPRES lineup as a multi-powertrain solution for commercial mobility applications.

The vehicles come with a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometres, extendable to five years or 180,000 kilometres. Tata Motors cited a maintenance cost of ₹0.47 per kilometre for the new variants.

To support the expanded portfolio, the automaker has established dedicated fleet-focused dealerships in select cities, offering specialized sales and service infrastructure for commercial customers. The company indicated that these facilities aim to reduce turnaround times and improve vehicle availability for operators.

The XPRES fleet portfolio now spans electric, petrol, and CNG powertrains, targeting segments including airport transfers, ride-hailing services, intercity operations, employee transportation, and tourist taxi services. Bookings are currently open through authorized fleet dealerships across India.
