Yamaha Recalls Over 3 Lakh 125cc Hybrid Scooters in India

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has announced a voluntary recall of 3,06,635 units of its 125cc hybrid scooter models manufactured between May 2, 2024, and September 3, 2025.

The recall affects the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooter models. The company has identified a potential issue where the front brake caliper may exhibit limited function under certain operating conditions in select units.

Yamaha stated that customer safety remains its highest priority and that replacement of the affected parts will be provided free of charge to all vehicles covered under the campaign.

Customers can verify their vehicle's eligibility by visiting the Service section of the India Yamaha Motor website at yamaha-motor-india.com. Under the Maintenance tab, users can click on Voluntary Recall Campaign and enter their chassis number in the Scooter 125 section to check if their vehicle is included in the recall.

Affected customers can also visit their nearest authorized Yamaha showroom or contact the company's toll-free helpline.

The replacement work will be conducted at authorized Yamaha showrooms at no cost to customers. The company has initiated the recall campaign effective immediately as part of its commitment to delivering safe and high-quality products.

Despite the recall, updated versions of the 125cc hybrid lineup remain available for sale across India. The models now feature an Enhanced Power Assist function that uses hybrid technology and a high-performance battery to deliver consistent torque and stronger acceleration, particularly during initial take-off, load carrying, and incline riding.

The premium Fascino S 125 Fi Hybrid variant includes a full-colour TFT instrument cluster with Turn-by-Turn navigation through smartphone connectivity via the Y-Connect app and Google Maps integration.

Pricing on an ex-showroom Delhi basis is as follows: Fascino S 125 Fi Hybrid with Colour TFT and TBT navigation at ₹1,02,790, standard Fascino S 125 Fi Hybrid at ₹95,850, Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid at ₹80,750, RayZR Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid at ₹92,970, and RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid at ₹79,340.

New colour options have been introduced across the range, including Matte Grey for the Fascino S, Metallic Light Green and Metallic White for the standard Fascino variants, Matte Grey Metallic for the RayZR Street Rally, and Silver White Cocktail for the standard RayZR disc variant.

All scooters are powered by a 125cc air-cooled, fuel-injected Blue Core Hybrid engine with features including telescopic front suspension, side-stand engine cut-off switch, 21 litres of under-seat storage, and E20 fuel compatibility. Higher-spec variants feature LED DRL and the Answer Back system.
