The retrofit solution is presented as a way for operators to potentially reduce costs compared to purchasing new diesel or CNG vehicles. According to the officials, operators switching from CNG vehicles to retrofit battery swapping EVs may save approximately 30% in monthly costs, while those switching from diesel vehicles may save about 40% per month.

Anant Badjatya, CEO of SUN Mobility, stated that the initiative would be launched in NCR before expanding to other states. Sanjiv Gupta, Founder & Chairman of Bluwheelz, expressed support for the collaboration, describing the retrofit kits as a solution for transitioning to electric vehicles while potentially reducing carbon footprint and enhancing operational efficiency.
