River Indie Now Available to Book on Flipkart

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker River has listed its Indie electric scooter on Flipkart, allowing customers to book the scooter via the online retail platform. However, the option is currently limited to buyers who live near a River showroom.

River currently has more than 80 stores across 48 cities in India, with the company continuing to expand its retail network.

How to Book the River Indie on Flipkart

Customers located near a River showroom can now visit Flipkart, select the Indie and complete the booking process online. Once the booking is made, it is transferred to the nearest River dealership, which handles the subsequent purchase and delivery process. The dealership will also remain responsible for servicing the scooter after purchase.

River's move follows a growing trend of two-wheeler manufacturers using e-commerce platforms to make their products more accessible. Royal Enfield, Yezdi, Ather and Vida already offer their products through online channels. However, the requirement for a nearby River showroom means the company's physical retail network remains an important part of the buying process.

River Indie Gets 4kWh Battery and 163 Km Range

The River Indie is currently sold in a single variant and is priced at Rs 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The same price is listed on Flipkart.

The scooter uses a 4kWh battery and has a claimed IDC range of 163km, while its claimed top speed is 90kph. Unlike several electric scooters that focus heavily on connected technology and electronic features, the Indie is positioned around practicality and utility. A key highlight is its 55-litre under-seat storage, while its design and "SUV of scooters" positioning reflect River's focus on carrying capacity and everyday usability.

With more than 80 stores across 48 cities, increasing online accessibility could complement River's retail expansion as it looks to make the Indie available to a wider customer base.
