Raptee.HV T30 Sets All-India EV Motorcycle Distance Record

Chennai-based electric motorcycle startup Raptee.HV achieved a record-breaking All-India ride using only public DC fast-charging car infrastructure, completing the journey in 19 days without a single breakdown — matching typical ICE motorcycle timelines.

Raptee.HV T30 Sets All-India EV Motorcycle Distance Record

Electric motorcycle startup Raptee.HV announced Thursday that its T30 model has completed a 7,530-kilometre All-India ride in 19 days, a feat now officially recognised by both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records. The journey marks the first time an electric motorcycle in India has completed an All-India ride of this scale.

The ride was accomplished by Mr. Baala Manikandan, an electric vehicle riding enthusiast who already holds two prior records for electric motorcycle riding. He averaged 407 kilometres per day — approximately 100 kilometres more per day than his previous electric rides — a figure the company attributes to the T30's CCS2 DC fast-charging capability.

A Charging Infrastructure First

Central to the achievement was the T30's compatibility with the CCS2 charging standard, the same connector used by electric cars. This gives the motorcycle access to over 40,000 public DC fast chargers across India — infrastructure built primarily for four-wheelers. The company says this makes the T30 the only electric two-wheeler capable of tapping into the country's existing and rapidly expanding public car charging network.

Manikandan described the practical impact during the ride: where DC fast chargers were available, he was able to charge in approximately 30 minutes; in locations with only AC charging, reaching 80% charge took around an hour. Despite extensive DC fast charging over the demanding 7,500-plus-kilometre journey, the motorcycle's battery health reportedly remained at 100% upon completion.

Raptee.HV, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Chennai, was co-founded by Dinesh Arjun, a former Tesla engineer. The company built the T30 on a high-voltage powertrain architecture — the same platform philosophy used in electric cars — and claims to have developed 100% of its electronics in-house. The company has filed 156 patents and operates a 4.5-acre production facility in Chennai with an installed annual capacity of 100,000 units.

Commenting on the record, CEO Dinesh Arjun said the journey validated both the product's reliability and the company's technology approach, noting the bike completed the ride without a single breakdown. "While designed primarily for urban mobility, CCS2 fast-charging empowers the T30 for confident long-distance travel," Arjun said, "redefining what electric motorcycling can achieve in India."

The company has raised USD 5 million in pre-Series A funding and is currently in the process of closing a USD 20 million Series A round through a mix of debt and equity. For future manufacturing expansion, Raptee.HV has secured 40 acres of land at SIPCOT, Cheyyar.

The record ride positions Raptee.HV's argument that charging infrastructure compatibility — rather than battery range alone — may be the more consequential factor in making long-distance electric motorcycle travel viable for Indian riders.
