Maruti Suzuki Victoris Becomes Company's First Model to Feature Dolby Atmos in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the Victoris SUV with Dolby Atmos technology, making it the first vehicle from India's largest car manufacturer to feature the immersive audio system. The collaboration with Dolby Laboratories brings the premium sound experience to India's mid-size SUV segment through an 8-speaker Infinity by Harman setup.

The Victoris integrates Dolby Atmos with its advanced in-car audio system, transforming the vehicle cabin into what the companies describe as a multidimensional soundstage. The technology processes music, podcasts, and streaming content to create spatial audio effects for all passengers.

In India's expanding mid-size SUV market, in-car entertainment features have become important purchasing factors for consumers. The Victoris targets young Indian buyers seeking technology-driven vehicles with premium features.

"At Dolby, we are committed to bringing Dolby Atmos to a broader audience of Indian consumers. Our collaboration with India's largest passenger vehicle OEM, Maruti Suzuki, represents a significant milestone in making Dolby Atmos accessible to the masses. By integrating Dolby Atmos into the Victoris, we're ensuring that Indian drivers and passengers can experience audio that feels more natural and engaging, turning every drive, short or long, into a concert on wheels," said Karan Grover, Senior Director, Commercial Partnerships, IMEA, Dolby Laboratories.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "The all-new Victoris has been conceptualised to meet the evolving aspirations of dynamic, young Indians who consider the automobile as an extension of their personality. The Victoris introduces a range of new-age features for the Young Indian consumer. One that particularly stands out is the bespoke 8-speaker Infinity premium sound system and Dolby Atmos, for an elevated listening experience. Customers can also enjoy their favourite OTT shows in the Victoris with a "Theater on Wheels" effect for a truly cinematic experience, thanks to the Suzuki SmartPlay Pro X infotainment system featuring app store connectivity, 35+ apps and OTPA updates."

The Victoris includes additional features such as Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a powered tailgate. The infotainment system, Suzuki SmartPlay Pro X, supports over 35 applications and over-the-air updates for streaming content including shows from OTT platforms.

Dolby Laboratories, traded on NYSE as DLB, develops immersive entertainment technologies for movies, television, music, and gaming. The company's audio and visual technologies are used across consumer devices globally.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited operates more than 4,000 sales outlets and 5,000 service centers across India. The company maintains manufacturing facilities with annual production capacity of 2.6 million units and operates a research and development facility in Rohtak.
