Mahindra Thar waiting period now at under 3 months
The Thar’s waiting period has reduced drastically over the past few months.
The Mahindra Thar has been the top-selling lifestyle SUV in India since its arrival back in 2020. The high demand has resulted in long waiting periods that even stretched to over a year for few variants in the past. However, an increase in production as well as higher average monthly deliveries has helped the carmaker reduce the waiting period significantly. The 4x4 variants now have a waiting period of up to 3 months, while the 4x2 version has a waiting period of just over 2 months.
Mahindra Thar 4x4 waiting period
At the moment, the 4x4 variants of the Mahindra Thar have a waiting period of up to 3 months on the range-topping hard-top petrol and convertible variants. Delivery times for the hard-top diesel variants stretch to just over 2 months.
The Thar 4x4 is available with two engine options: a 152hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 132hp, 2.2-litre diesel. Both engines get the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Prices for the Thar 4x4 currently range between Rs 14.30 lakh-17 lakh for the petrol, while the diesel variants are priced between Rs 14.85 lakh-17.60 lakh.
Mahindra Thar 4x2 waiting period
The Thar 4x2 has a waiting period of up to 2 months on the diesel version, and just over 2 months on the petrol. The Thar 4x2 gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates 118hp and 300Nm of torque. The diesel gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, which is shared with the Thar 4x4, is only offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Prices ranges from Rs 11.35 lakh to Rs 14.10 lakh.
