Mahindra Logistics Expands Eastern Footprint with New Warehousing Facilities
The logistics provider has commissioned Grade A warehousing facilities totaling 4 lakh square feet in Guwahati and Agartala, targeting growing demand for integrated supply chain solutions in Eastern India's developing industrial corridors.
Mahindra Logistics Limited has launched two warehousing facilities in Eastern India, adding over 400,000 square feet of capacity to its regional network. The facilities, located in Guwahati and Agartala, form part of the company's strategic expansion in the eastern region.
The Guwahati facility spans 300,000 square feet and represents the largest Grade A multi-client warehousing facility in North-East India. Positioned 500 meters from National Highway 17, the site offers connectivity to Guwahati International Airport (11.7 km) and Mirza Railway Station (7.1 km). The facility includes the region's first Community Center of Excellence, developed in partnership with the Logistics Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
The 130,000 square foot Agartala facility aims to serve consumption and production centers across Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur. The location provides access to cross-border trade routes with Bangladesh and supports express logistics operations across the northeastern states.
Mahindra Logistics' eastern expansion includes one million square feet of multi-client warehousing space across the region and plans to extend express logistics services to over 800 pin codes. The company projects the expansion will generate over 2,000 employment opportunities, with 50% workforce diversity from local communities.
The facilities will serve multiple sectors including e-commerce, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, retail, and grocery. Services encompass warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, sortation, and delivery operations, covering first-mile, mid-mile, last-mile, milk-run, express, and long-haul line haul services.
Eastern India's infrastructure development includes the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, Bharatmala highways, modernization of Kolkata-Haldia port, and development of Brahmaputra multimodal terminals. Cross-border infrastructure projects such as Maitri Setu and the Akhaura-Agartala rail project are enhancing regional connectivity.
Managing Director and CEO Hemant Sikka stated that the expansion aligns with India's economic growth trajectory and extends the company's distribution network to tier-II and tier-III cities in the region.
Mahindra Logistics Limited serves over 400 corporate customers across various industries and operates an asset-light business model focused on technology-enabled supply chain solutions.
