JBM Electric Vehicles Debuts ECOLIFE e12 at Busworld 2025

JBM Electric Vehicles launched its all-electric city bus, the ECOLIFE e12, at Busworld 2025 in Brussels, marking a significant expansion of the company's presence in the European market.

The launch event was led by Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Group, the $3.3 billion conglomerate behind JBM Electric Vehicles. The new bus model offers a range of up to 400 kilometers on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging capabilities.

The ECOLIFE e12 features a lightweight monocoque stainless steel body structure and incorporates sustainable design elements, including seats made from recycled materials and fabrics crafted from recycled yarn. The vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent Transport System compliant with EU standards and advanced telematics providing continuous vehicle health monitoring.

Safety features include JBM's proprietary Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), which assists drivers in detecting obstacles and preventing errors. Additional safety systems encompass Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Forward Vehicle Collision Warning Systems (FVCWS), Lane Departure Warning System, pedestrian and cyclist collision warning, blind spot detection, and a 360-degree camera system.

Alongside the bus launch, JBM Electric Vehicles announced the establishment of its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. The facility will serve as the central hub for marketing, sales, aftersales operations, and partnerships throughout the European Union.

The company has deployed and is executing contracts for 11,000 electric buses across various global markets. JBM operates what it describes as the world's largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in India, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 units.

According to company data, JBM electric buses have accumulated over 200 million electric kilometers over the past five years, transporting more than 1 billion passengers and contributing to a reduction of over 1 billion kilograms of CO2 emissions.

At the event, JBM also showcased JBM E-Verse, its integrated EV ecosystem platform that encompasses fast charging infrastructure, lithium-ion batteries, and power infrastructure designed to support zero-downtime operations. The company has committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.

Arya stated that the company envisions serving over 20 billion passengers and accumulating 3 billion electric kilometers within the next three years. The expansion aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to health, infrastructure innovation, sustainable cities, and climate action.

JBM Electric Vehicles offers a diverse portfolio of electric vehicles, including city buses, intercity coaches, luxury coaches, and specialized vehicles for school, staff, and airport tarmac operations.
