ICEMA Announces New Leadership Team for 2025–27 Term

The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) has elected new office bearers for the 2025-27 term during a recent Governing Council meeting held in New Delhi on August 8, 2025. Deepak Shetty, CEO & Managing Director of JCB India Ltd., has been appointed President, succeeding V. Vivekanand of Caterpillar India Pvt. Ltd.

Shetty brings over three decades of global leadership experience and served as President-Designate during 2023-25, contributing to the industry's sustainability roadmap and clean energy transition dialogues. He advocates for enhanced global collaboration and robust policy frameworks to support the Indian Construction Equipment industry's growth.

Ramesh Palagiri, Managing Director & CEO of Wirtgen India Pvt. Ltd., has assumed the President-Designate position. As Convenor of ICEMA's SMART Infra Panel, Palagiri has led initiatives to advance technology adoption and expand CE exports through improved market access.

Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director for India & SAARC at CASE Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd., has been appointed Vice President. Chaturvedi previously served as Convener of ICEMA's Human Capital Panel and led the industry's first Human Capital Summit and the release of the CE Human Capital Trends Report 2024-25.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has taken the role of Treasurer. As Co-Convener of the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Panel, Ganeshan contributed to policy advocacy on localisation and supplier development, helping shape the National Capital Goods Policy 2025.

The new leadership team will advance ICEMA's mandate of making India the second-largest CE market globally by 2030, aligned with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.

ICEMA, established in 1949, represents over 150 members including 95% of India's OEMs and component manufacturers. The non-governmental organisation drives policy advocacy, skill development, and sustainability initiatives to support world-class infrastructure development.
