Hyundai Motor India Launches Leadership Program with IIM Tiruchirappalli and MDI Gurgaon

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli and Management Development Institute Gurgaon to launch the ARISE Core Talent Program, a leadership development initiative targeting 100 employees identified as future leaders within the organization.

The program, which stands for Aspiring, Recognizing Individuals for Success and Excellence, began Phase 1 operations at both campuses with participants already engaged in coursework. Phase 2 is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026.

HMIL selected participants through a comprehensive evaluation process that considers current job roles, performance records, leadership assessments, and relevant experience. The curriculum incorporates business case studies, role-playing exercises, group discussions, and simulation-based learning to develop strategic thinking and collaborative leadership skills.

Natwar Kadel, Vertical Head of Human Resources at HMIL, stated that the program represents a long-term investment in leadership development and aims to prepare employees with strategic thinking capabilities and growth-oriented mindsets. The company views the initiative as part of its commitment to developing internal talent pools.

The partnership with IIM Tiruchirappalli and MDI Gurgaon follows HMIL's evaluation of academic institutions based on their reputation, teaching methodologies, and alignment with the company's leadership development objectives. Both institutions will contribute faculty expertise and pedagogical resources to the program.

Professor Saravanan P from IIM Tiruchirappalli emphasized the program's focus on strategic depth and human-centered leadership development. Professor Sumita Rai from MDI Gurgaon highlighted the initiative's emphasis on experiential learning and developing business agility among participants.

The program structure follows what HMIL describes as a three-pronged approach combining education, exposure, and experience. Participants will engage with theoretical concepts, practical insights, and hands-on applications throughout the duration of their involvement.

HMIL expects the program to strengthen employee retention and engagement while providing clear career advancement pathways for participants. The initiative forms part of the company's broader human resources strategy focused on internal talent development and succession planning.

The program will conclude with assessments based on project evaluations and practical experience gained during the learning modules. HMIL has positioned ARISE as a multi-campus initiative designed to address the leadership development needs of its workforce in India's automotive sector.
